Voice2Flow is a flow-diagram app you can talk to. Say "Add a decision with Yes and No connectors" and the shape appears, wired up and ready. Say "Rename the selected shape to Review request" and it's renamed. You direct every step, so your diagram ends up exactly the way you want it. Build a process one command at a time, start from a template, or mix voice, touch, mouse and keyboard however suits the moment.
You direct, Voice2Flow does the work — Voice2Flow is a voice-driven editor, not an automatic diagram generator. You tell it what to add or change (a shape, a connector, a label, an owner, a lane) and it does that instantly. That keeps you in control and your results predictable. For a head start, begin with one of the seven templates or the empty swimlane structure, then shape it with your voice.
Try Saying… — You never have to guess what the app understands. The Try Saying… panel on the right lists every phrase the app knows, grouped by what you're doing: Adding Shapes, Editing Shapes, Owners, Connectors, Layout, Swimlanes, Pages & Drill-down, Notes & Links, Group Selection, Item Numbers, and Undo & Redo. Tap any phrase to run it, or read it aloud and say it your own way. In Cards view, each pattern shows the blanks you fill in (the shape, the item number, the lane name); in List view, you see every example phrase one by one.
Edit with your voice, not just create — Voice2Flow isn't only a dictation tool for starting a diagram. You can come back to any diagram and keep editing it by speaking: rename shapes, change their type, set owners, relabel connectors, reverse an arrow, swap two steps, move a shape into another swimlane, align a group, and undo anything you didn't mean.
Say it once for many shapes — "Add a 5-step process in swim lane 1." "Make items 1 through 5 divided processes, make items 6 and 10 decision shapes." "Connect shapes 1 through 4." One sentence can build or change a whole row of shapes.
Every shape has a number — Shapes are numbered, so you can point at them by voice: "Set the owner of item 3 to Sales," "Move item 3 below item 5," "Drill into item 3."
Notes and links on any shape — Attach a note or a web, email or phone link to a shape by speaking or by touch, and optionally include the notes as a numbered list in your PDF.
Swimlanes, phases, and multi-page diagrams — Organize a process by team (swimlanes) and by stage (phases), and drill down from any shape into its own sub-process page.
Templates to start from — Approval Request, Employee Onboarding, Order Fulfillment, Customer Support Ticket, Incident Response, Decision Flow, and Company Org Chart.
Works with draw.io and Visio — Import draw.io and Visio files, and export back out to draw.io XML or Visio, as well as PDF, PNG, and print.
Your files stay with you — Diagrams are saved as .v2flow files in the place you choose. No account is needed. Save to iCloud Drive and your diagrams are waiting on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
When Voice2Flow opens, you can:
.v2flow file. The first time you use voice, your device asks for permission to use the microphone and speech recognition. Please allow both if you want to speak your commands. If you decline, you can still do everything by touch and typed commands.
Top toolbar — New, Open…, Save, Save As…, and Export. The file name is shown in the middle; an orange dot beside it means there are unsaved changes. Look: Classic / Glass changes the app's appearance: tap it to switch, or press and hold for a menu.
Library (left) — A drawer of shapes you can place by hand: core flowchart shapes, standard symbols, and an extra collection of 91 shapes including BPMN, UML, and icons.
Canvas (center) — Your diagram. Tap a shape to select it; drag to move it; drag its handles to resize it.
Try Saying… and Tools (right) — The phrase list described above, with Tools beneath it: Undo, Redo, Copy, Cut, Paste, Delete, and Page guides.
Command bar (bottom) — The microphone button, the transcript of what you said (or the result of the last command), a picker for the target shape, and a keyboard button for typing a command instead of speaking.
Page tabs (very bottom) — One tab per page ("Page 1", and so on), with a + to add another.
The Command history disclosure in the command bar lists what you've said so far in the session.
Voice recognition is currently in English (US).
Tap the keyboard button in the command bar to type a command. Typed commands use exactly the same phrases as spoken ones, which makes them useful in a quiet room — or a loud one.
These are examples from the Try Saying… panel. Words in the examples such as "A," "B," "Team A," "Lane 1," or "item 3" are placeholders for your own shapes, names, and numbers.
Connectors keep their routes when you reposition shapes — moving a shape won't suddenly rewire your diagram.
Swimlanes can run horizontally or vertically. Phases divide the diagram into stages.
Select several shapes (see Selecting Several Shapes below), then say:
Voice is the fastest way to get started, but you're always free to take over.
Open the Library on the left and tap or drag a shape onto the canvas. Drag a shape to move it. Alignment guides appear as you drag to help you line shapes up. Drag the handles around a selected shape to resize it.
On a Mac, drag a rectangle on the canvas. On an iPad or iPhone, press and hold on an empty part of the canvas, then drag to draw the selection box. Everything inside is selected, and the "selected shapes" voice commands apply to it.
Find all of these under Tools on the right.
Connect shapes by voice, or by hand. Connectors can be solid, dashed or dotted, with arrowheads at either or both ends, and can carry a label such as "Yes" or "No."
Turn on Page guides under Tools to see where a printed page will begin and end, so you can arrange your diagram to fit.
Each shape can carry a note and a link.
.v2flow files, draw.io files (as a tooltip and link), and Visio files (as Shape Data and a hyperlink).Add swimlanes to show who is responsible for each step — "Add three vertical swim lanes," "Rename Lane 1 to Sales." Shapes can be added directly into a lane by name ("Add two decision shapes in the Sales lane") and moved between lanes ("Move item 3 to lane 2"). Say "Change all of the owners to match the current lane" to make each shape's owner match the lane it sits in.
Phases divide the diagram into stages — Plan, Build, Review. You can resize them by voice.
A diagram can have many pages; use the page tabs at the bottom. For a detailed step, say "Create a sub-process for item 3." The shape gets a small badge — tap it, or say "Drill into item 3," to open the sub-process page, and say "Go back" to return.
Start from the Company Org Chart template, select a person, and say "Add a subordinate" or "Add two subordinates to item 3."
.v2flow file to a place you choose..v2flow file (with Browse… to find files elsewhere)..vsdx and .vstx files, including files with multiple pages. Voice2Flow brings in as much as it can — shapes, text, connectors, and notes.Voice2Flow keeps your diagrams in ordinary files, so iCloud Drive can sync them between your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. One purchase covers all three.
Tips: wait a moment after saving on one device before opening the file on another. If a file shows a cloud icon, it is still downloading. Voice2Flow does not merge edits, so if you change the same diagram on two devices before they sync, one version can replace the other — close a diagram on one device before editing it on another.
Choose Export in the top toolbar:
The export preview lets you choose the paper size and how the diagram is split across pages before you export.
The app doesn't hear me. Check that microphone and speech recognition are allowed for Voice2Flow in your device's Settings (iPhone and iPad) or System Settings → Privacy & Security (Mac).
The app heard me but didn't understand. Look at the Did you mean…? suggestions, or find the closest pattern in Try Saying….
I described a whole process and nothing like it appeared. Voice2Flow builds from specific commands rather than general descriptions. Try "Add a 5-step process in swim lane 1," start from a template, or look in Try Saying… for the closest pattern.
A command did the wrong thing. Say "Undo that," or tap Undo under Tools.
Voice recognition is in the wrong language. Voice2Flow currently recognizes English (US).
I can't find my file. Use Open… → Browse… to look in the folder where you saved it.
My diagram isn't showing up on my other device. Check that both devices use the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive turned on, that the file was saved in the Voice2Flow iCloud folder, and give it a minute to sync.
I'd love to hear how you use Voice2Flow and what would make it better. Write to me at mstone2112@gmail.com.
